Each year the Acting Area students in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design (AMPD) stage several Studio Show performances in order to showcase their work in a variety of styles.
The third-year actors kick things off with a production of Quebec-based Lebanese-Canadian Wajdi Mouawad’s critically acclaimed play Scorched, directed by MFA Directing student David di Giovanni. In the spring, they take on Orestes 2.0 by Charles L. Mee based on the play by Euripides, directed by MFA Directing student Matthew Earnest.
At the end of the winter semester, all the Acting Area students, from second-year BFAs to MFA students, will perform in our mini Shakespeare Festival. This year’s projects and directors are Merchant of Venice, directed by David di Giovanni, Titus Andronicus, directed by Matthew Earnest, Twelfth Night, directed by Tanja Jacobs and King Lear, directed by Alistair Newton.
